Edward Perry Passailaigue Papers, 1911-1962.

Six papers and one photograph album (1911-1928, 1949, and 1962) relate primarily to athletic and social activities of Edward "Dutch" Passailaigue, an undgraduate student attending the University of South Carolina, prior to graduation in 1915. The photo album (containing 103 photographs), focuses on his football career at Carolina, including his participation in the 1912 victory over Clemson. Also included are team photos, 1911-1913, shots from the 1912 games versus Wake Forest and College of Charleston, pictures of the 1915 Wofford College team, of which Passailaigue was the coach, an image of the 1928 "N.C. State Fresh Squad," and views of campus life at the University of South Carolina, 1911-1915, and downtown Columbia and vicinity. Newspaper feature, "That Carolina Team of 1912" (by S[amuel] L. L[atimer], Jr.; published 2 Oct. 1949 in The State Magazine), re the football team's victory over Clemson "for the first time in ten years"; illustrated with images of the team and cartoons from the 1918 USC yearbook. Collection also contains certificates associated with Passailaigue's membership in Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity (1912 and 1962) and diplomas from the University of South Carolina.
